World War 2 Stories for Sheffield

7 - 7  (2005)

The 7th of July 2005 became a memorable day in more ways than one. The People's War volunteers, along with several of the story contributors were travelling on a coach with the BBC to a war exhibition in St. James' Park in London. Whilst on the M1, a message was received from the BBC in London, urging us not to go to the capital as we would not be allowed to enter the city because of the 7/7 terrorist attacks. A decision was taken to divert to Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. These are some of the photos taken on that day. Most of the photos were the work of Ted Hodson --->
